چکیده

Theoretical investigation of a combined influence of anharmonic lattice vibrations, external magnetic field and pressure on magnetic properties of localized spin systems. supervisor: prof. RNDr. Michal Jaščur, PhD. study form: full time Annotation: The theoretical and experimental investigation of magnetic properties of various physical systems under simultaneous influence of different external fields represents an interesting research subject of current condensed matter theory. However, one should emphasize here that the standard statistical-mechanical approach using a suitable statistical ensemble is not straightforwardly applicable to the solving of this problem because of a huge mathematical complexity of relevant calculations. The main aim of the dissertation is therefore to apply simple self-consistent theories developed recently in [1-3] in order to investigate the combined influence of static (elastic) potential energy, anharmonic lattice vibrations, external magnetic field and pressure on magnetic properties of various localized spin systems. It is expected that such a complex theory may predict some new physical phenomena originated by competing effects of all relevant contributions to the total energy of the investigated systems. 1] T. Anomalous and dimensional scaling in anisotropic turbulence.

We present a numerical study of anisotropic statistical fluctuations in homogeneous turbulent flows. We give a new argument to predict the dimensional scaling exponents, zeta(j)(d)(p)=(p+j)/3, for the projections of the pth order structure function in the jth sector of the rotational group. We show that the measured exponents are anomalous, showing a clear deviation from the dimensional predict...

Anisotropy in Turbulent Flows and in Turbulent Transport

The problem of anisotropy and its effects on the statistical theory of high Reynoldsnumber (Re) turbulence (and turbulent transport) is intimately related and intermingled with the problem of the universality of the (anomalous) scaling exponents of structure functions. Both problems had seen tremendous progress in the last five years. In this review we present a detailed description of the new ...

The Universal Scaling Exponents of Anisotropy in Turbulence and their Measurement

The scaling properties of correlation functions of non-scalar fields (constructed from velocity derivatives) in isotropic hydrodynamic turbulence are characterized by a set of universal exponents. It is explained that these exponents also characterize the rate of decay of the effects of anisotropic forcing in developed turbulence. This set has never been measured in either numerical or laborato...

Anomalous scaling of a passive scalar advected by the turbulent velocity field with finite correlation time: two-loop approximation.

The renormalization group and operator product expansion are applied to the model of a passive scalar quantity advected by the Gaussian self-similar velocity field with finite, and not small, correlation time. The inertial-range energy spectrum of the velocity is chosen in the form E(k) proportional, variant k(1-2 epsilon ), and the correlation time at the wave number k scales as k(-2+eta). Ine...

Anisotropic scaling features and complexity in magnetospheric-cusp: a case study

Magnetospheric cusps are high-latitude regions characterized by a highly turbulent plasma, playing a special role in the solar wind-magnetosphere interaction. Here, using POLAR satellite magnetic field vector measurements we investigate the anisotropic scaling features of the magnetic field fluctuations in the northern cusp region. Our results seem to support the hypothesis of a 2D-MHD turbulen...
